What We Offer the Author
We want your novellas, but what do you get from us in return?
Well, let’s go though the entire process from the start. Once you have sent us that beautifully written query letter and we feel that what you have is a fit, we will ask for your manuscript. If we read the manuscript and feel that your novella is a piece that we would like to publish then we will then send you a good old contract to sign, and so will begin the publishing process.
The first stage of this publishing process is the editing. Whatever editor chooses your work, Zach or myself, will be there to give you notes so that we can format your story into the best novella possible. After we work with you to make your already great work into an amazing work we will then copy edit the novella so that we are sending off the best possible piece of work into the world.
The next stage includes formatting, ISBNs, and covers. When you are making an ebook there are multiple formats that need to be considered since different ereaders use different file types. And since there are different formats, we will need to attach a different ISBN to each. Lastly, many people do not realize the importance of a good cover. For many people the cover and title are the first thing that they will see. Most people, if you will, do read a book by its cover. And so, because of this, we will make sure that your book gets the best visual-first impression possible.
Next comes publication. We will send each of those formats with its own ISBN off into the wild. This will include putting your novella up on Barnes and Noble for the Nook, the iBook store for IPad, and Amazon for the kindle, as well as other locations where we think that your novella will sell. Along with this we will also work on writing blurbs for the books and setting up the best front for them with each of these ebook-selling websites.
With publication also comes marketing. This will include getting your book reviewed by multiple outlets, an aggressive social media campaign, and effective ad placement to drive readers to your book. However, we also want to have you be part of this campaign which is why we ask for you to be an active social media user and have a blog. We want you to be pushing your book just as hard as we are, maybe even harder!
And with this aggressive marketing will come payments, which is, in our opinion, the best thing that we have to offer our authors. While we do not offer up-front payments, we have a very competitive royalty system. This systems scales up in payments starting at 30% for 1-2000 copies sold, 40% for 2001-15000 copies sold, and 50% for 15,000 plus copies sold. And at a price point of $3.99 you are looking at a lot of money when you hit that 15,000 plus book seller level (or even just the 20-30% range).
So that, in a nut shell, is what we have to offer you. Any more questions? Send us an email at temporary.infinity.press@gmail.com. Ready to submit? Check out our submission page for more details.
